Why it matters

This one was still in the wall yesterday.

Electrical problems rarely announce themselves. They build quietly behind drywall for years, and the first real symptom is often heat or smoke.

If any of these sound familiar, it is worth a phone call before it becomes an insurance claim.

Outlets or switch plates that feel warm to the touch
Breakers that trip repeatedly on the same circuit
Lights that flicker or dim when appliances start
Scorch marks, buzzing, or a burning smell near a panel
Aluminum wiring, or a panel that has never been inspected

Who shows up

Six years on the tools as Hi-Energy.

Hi-Energy Electrical Services is a licensed and insured electrical contractor based in Calmar, working across Leduc County and central Alberta. The company has been running for six years, backed by fifteen years of electrical experience and a start in construction going back to 2000.

That range is unusual for a shop this size. Residential, commercial and industrial under one licence is why a homeowner and a plant maintenance manager can call the same number. We have worked in schools, government buildings, airports and other high security and clearance areas.

Residential, commercial and industrial. One licence, one number.

You get the person who quoted the job on the job. We explain it in plain english, and nobody gets made to feel stupid for asking a question.

★★★★★
Best electrician I've worked with! And it's great that he's local to the calmar area. Out here it's hard to get professional work at this calibre without paying insane travel fees for someone to come out from Leduc or Edmonton. His communication was great, bill wasn't a surprise, everything was done to code and done well.

Excellent service and fair price. Fit my small job into his busy schedule when everyone else was at least 2 weeks out. Explained everything and was super thorough. Will be my goto from now on.

I had no power at one end of my mobile home. He even crawled under my mobile home to fix some electrical issues to make sure my home was up to code. I would totally recommend this company. He went above and beyond for me. Very kind and professional.

Before you call

Straight answers.

In Alberta, yes. Electrical work has to be done by a licensed contractor to meet code. Do it yourself work can void your home insurance and create a fire hazard that shows up years later, usually at the worst possible time.

Hi-Energy is based in Calmar and works roughly a 150km radius. That covers Leduc County and Wetaskiwin County, including Leduc, Devon, Thorsby, Warburg, Millet, Pigeon Lake and Gull Lake, and reaches out to Edmonton, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Sherwood Park. Each community has its own page here.

Being based in Calmar rather than Edmonton is the point. Customers in the surrounding communities regularly tell us they were quoted heavy travel charges by shops driving out from the city. We are already here, so the drive is short and the quote reflects that.

Yes. Workmanship is guaranteed for two years. Hardware usually carries its own manufacturer warranty on the part itself, but the labour to remove and replace a faulty component is charged separately. We tell you which applies before the work goes ahead.

Call and describe the job and we will give you a realistic picture of what it involves at no charge. We avoid rigid written quotes on electrical work, because site conditions change the moment a wall opens up, and a fixed number either carries padding you end up paying for or turns into a dispute later.

Yes. Control system troubleshooting, motor installation, transformer sizing, distribution and forklift charging systems are all regular work for us. We have also worked in schools, government buildings, airports and other high security and clearance environments, so site requirements and paperwork are familiar territory.

Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with after hours work by arrangement. We are not a 24/7 service, but we do work odd schedules to suit customers when a job genuinely needs it. Call 587-412-2336 and we will tell you honestly what we can do.

Something in your house is bugging you.

Flickering lights, a warm outlet, a panel you have never trusted. Tell us what it is doing and we will tell you what it takes to fix it.
